the bean

"The Bean" is what locals call Cloud Gate in Chicago's Millenium Park.  On my trip in December I fell in love with this 110-ton stainless steel sculpture that looks like liquid mercury.

There is an "arch" in the bean that you can walk under.  From underneath if you look up this is what you see.  Towards the bottom of the picture you can see the actual ground, the rest is all reflection.

a baby shower for Kim

Kim and I have known each other since our freshman year at San Diego State University and have been friends ever since. Her baby girl, Ella, will be here in March. Her closest friends got together and threw her a little party to celebrate her upcoming motherhood and shower her with gifts. I am so excited for her! She is going to be an amazing mom!
