trail training

These shots were taken by my friend Ryan.  He recently wrangled me into modeling for a shoot he had for school.  I am using the term "modeling" very loosely here.  He actually had a real model, but she wasn't available on this day so I stood in for her so he could see if the location would work.  We went to Top of the World, which is situated at the top of the tallest hill in Laguna Beach and he had me run up and down a steep trail as he took pictures.   The day was perfect, great weather and not too many people.  The only visitor we had was a rattlesnake that crossed our path.... I was a bit spooked but we left him alone and he was on his way and we were on ours.

supper club

About twice a month on Tuesdays a group of friends and I get together for dinner... When it is your turn to host you make a whole meal and everyone comes over to feast and catch up on each other's lives.   The last time we got together, Mitch and Angela prepared a menu of Italian seafood.   There was a cheese plate, crab cakes, grilled lobster, salad caprese, pasta with clam sauce, and for dessert, canolli.  Paired with a glass of wine and good friends and what a grande notte!  Salute!

so illustrious!

This was a recent project I completed for my graphic design class.  I copied a photograph that someone had taken of me using the pen tool in Illustrator.

crystal cove cottages

I took this at Crystal Cove, which is one of my favorite beaches in Orange County.  These cottages have been around since the 1920's, and some have even been renovated and can be rented out. Walking through this little beach community makes me feel as though I am going back in time, and thought it would be a great place to photograph.

This picture was an assignment for my black and white 35mm film class.  I did all the film processing and printing myself, in the darkroom.  Not a quick or easy process, but so fulfilling when you actually get a print that you like!

tyson

Meet Tyson.  He is one of the friendliest, cuddliest cats I have ever known.  Tyson was with me through so many things for the past 12 years.  Since my graduation from college to just about a year ago... first living in San Diego with roommates who loved him as much as I did and once in a studio, then Costa Mesa with a boyfriend at the time because my apartment wouldn't allow cats, later in San Dimas where he lived with my mom who fell in love with him and didn't want to give him back, after that we moved to Sacramento where I got married, a bit later we moved to Long Beach when I went back to school, then Costa Mesa (again) where I was figuring out what to do with my life and then finally, Corona del Mar where I live now.  He ran away last year when I was out of town for the weekend.  I still miss him so much everyday.  I hope wherever he is that there are lots of birds to watch, necks to nuzzle and cans of tuna to eat.

jenn reflection

This was an assignment I did recently for my graphic design class.  We are learning how to use Adobe Illustrator.  I have to admit it's quite confusing... but I am slowly getting the hang of it... thanks to my good friend, Carrie.  Without her help, I would be soooooooooo lost.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!
